The National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE)
recognizes that it would not be where it is today were it not for the support it has received and the collaborations it has fostered since its inception.
NHCGNE would like to thank the following organizations that have helped in laying the groundwork for us to continue our mission and vision.
Inaugural Supporter
The John A. Hartford Foundation
Founded in 1929, JAHF is a private philanthropic foundation whose current mission is “to improve the care of older adults.” It does so by awarding grants with the aim of enhancing the health and well-being of older people. NHCGNE’s humbly began as the Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity (BAGNC) Program within JAHF. The Foundation would later continue to support BAGNC’s, including after its transition into the NHCGNE, through grant funding.
