NEW Poster & Educational Session Abstract Submission for the NHCGNE Leadership Conference

NHCGNE is pleased to announce that for the first time we are soliciting abstracts for both poster presentations and educational sessions that will help showcase and advance successful models of practice, education, research, and dissemination in the field of older adults and their caregivers.

NHCGNE welcomes both members and non-members to submit their work.

Abstract Information

500-words or less synopsis of a gerontological nursing topic that relates to one of the topics listed below:
  • Topic 1


    Impact of ageism and related opportunities for gerontological nursing leadership.
  • Topic 2


    Strategies that benefit healthcare providers, older adults and their families in the pursuance of health and wellness.
  • Topic 3

    Career Development

    Opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Topic 4

    International Engagement & Development

    Communicate and disseminate advances in gerontological nursing leadership with a focus on reshaping perspectives and strategies for the future of aging.
  • Topic 5


    Advances in gerontological nursing and examine innovative approaches of advanced technology and the issues of digital divide for research, practice, and education in aging.

What Format Should I Use?

All uploaded abstracts should follow the provided template for background on the topic, three objectives for sharing the work with the audience (e.g., what will they learn), methods, and conclusions for posters.

What Is Involved With a Educational Session? 

Educational Session (40-minutes) Selected presenations will be pre-recorded and available through December 31, 2022.
Educational sessions are 40-minute sessions that offer practical experience to help participants increase their understanding and skill in a particular area. Abstracts must include an outline of the lesson plan for the session and indicate how much time will be devoted to each portion.

What Is Involved With a Poster Presentation?

Poster (5-minutes) Selected presentations will be pre-recorded and available through December 31, 2022.
Poster presenters are asked to present their work visually as a pdf poster and to record a 5-minute video describing the basic premise and findings of the research.
Top four (4) posters selected will be presented during the Annual Conference Poster Flash Talks Live Pre-Recorded Session.

    Can someone submit an abstract that was previously accepted at a different conference? 

    Yes, as long as the work was not published
  • Question 2

    Can someone submit an abstract from published work? 

    No, we are interested in presentations of unpublished work. Work that is under review, but not yet accepted for publication can be submitted.
  • Question 3

    If my poster or educational session is accepted for the conference, do I have to register? 

    Yes. If your abstract is selected for presentation, you must register for the conference. Abstracts reflecting multiple presenters require conference paid registration for everyone presenting.
  • Question 4

    If my poster or educational session is accepted for the conference, can I use my Complementary Member Institution Registration? 

  • Question 5

    I am unable to attend the conference. Could I still present a poster or educational session?

    No. If your educational session or poster session abstract is selected for presentation, you and all listed presenters must register for the conference.
