Mission

The mission of the NHCGNE is to enhance and sustain the capacity and competency of nurses to provide quality care to older adults through: faculty development, advancing gerontological nursing science, facilitating adoption of best practices, fostering leadership, and designing and shaping policy.

Subscription Plans

Institutional Membership dues are $3000 per year. Payment is due upon acceptance of membership.

Dues: $3,000.00

Upon acceptance as a member of the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE), members are entitled to all rights and privileges of the NHCGNE and shall be designated in all official communications as:

Institution name, a Member of the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence
(e.g., Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, a Member of the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence).

CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP

We invite Institutions that have demonstrated a commitment to the field of gerontological nursing and are interested in joining our mission to apply.

We are seeking applications from Institutions that have both current experience and future potential to build the next generation of gerontological nurses.
The criteria for a successful application include:

  • Demonstrated strength or high potential for expertise in gerontological nursing and gerontology,
  • Curricular strength in gerontology and geriatric nursing,
  • Interested cadre of gerontological nursing faculty,
  • Funded program(s) of research in nursing care of older adults and/or education related to care of older adults, and
  • Committed institutional leaders who provide letters of support.
