The mission of the NHCGNE is to enhance and sustain the capacity and competency of nurses to provide quality care to older adults through: faculty development, advancing gerontological nursing science, facilitating adoption of best practices, fostering leadership, and designing and shaping policy.
Traditionally NHCGNE membership has been composed of academic institutions. While these members provide us with deep levels of wisdom, expertise, the latest research, and influence to identify and address the issues facing older adults, we are missing the hands-on experience of practitioners who can maximize our ability to effect positive change within gerontological nursing.
What can we do for you?
Access to Information and Research. Your membership gets you access to the latest information and research that will inform your approach to gerontological care while equipping you with evidence and data that so often is critical to decision-making within a healthcare environment.
Education. Membership earns you exclusive access and discounts on cutting-edge webinars and other online resources.
Discounts to the NHCGNE Leadership Conference. It’s the biggest gathering of academics, practitioners, and executives focused specifically on the advancement of gerontological healthcare. You get full access to the learning opportunities and networking at a cost that more than covers the cost of your membership dues.
Networking. As a member, you’ll join a distinguished group of professionals with a demonstrated commitment to your chosen field of specialty, a virtual “who’s who” of gerontological nursing. It’s a connection that will benefit you at all stages of your career with new ideas, career guidance/mentoring, and leadership opportunities. In short, your NHCGNE membership will say something significant about you.
Upon acceptance as a member of the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE), members are entitled to all rights and privileges of the NHCGNE.
We invite individuals not affiliated with an academic institution to apply for individual NHCGNE membership, allowing even more gerontological nursing professionals to join NHCGNE.
